The Regional Tables have for vocation to make you discover or rediscover the wealth of the picardy gastronomy, either products or recipes. By going into this initiative, the restaurant owners make a commitment to propose you a minimum of regional dishes as starters, dishes, cheese, desserts and drinks.
Animated by the Committee of promotion, this action can be found in a national network where are associated Auvergne, Franche Comté, Nord Pas de Calais and Picardy.
Some members of the network belongto the charter "Petit Gourmet". They emphasize, all year long, the reception of children by proposing them for example a real menu "petit gourmet" composed of regional products which is far from the traditional menu offered to children; or a menu identical to the one proposed to the parents but in half-portion.
The awakening of the taste begins from the youngest age, it is thus essential to teach the children to sample but also to awaken their interest, their curiosity. It is an evident fact: we can only like what we have tasted.
The other part of this reception is based on the idea the waiting between dishes is sometimes long for a child. To propose him an activity, Soils of Picardy give the restaurant owners a small notebook of games which is offered to children. The collection includes four titles: "Petit Gourmet" in the farm, in the kitchen garden, in the orchard and on streams.
