PRESENTATION

The Organic farming is a mode of agricultural production based on the environmental protection and the concern of an animal well-being.

It is the voluntary initiative of the farmer that implements practices corresponding to the European regulation (EEC n°2092 / 91 modified) and adhere to a plan of annual audit made by an independent certifying body.

In culture, the farmer implements long-lasting practices. He feeds the ground by the contribution of organic matters, the culture of legumes, long rotations. He prevents accidents (diseases, devastating) and reasons his interventions by practising the biological wrestling, the thermal or mechanical weeding…

The appeal to any chemical of synthesis product is forbidden.

The breeder prefers the prevention to the curative practices, he respects the animal well-being, guarantees a link on the ground by the pasture and the culture of biological cereal on the farm,He protects the quality of the water and maintains a landscape with hedges and trees.

Organic products are products with a great identity. To consume them constitutes an act citizen and a support for an environment-friendly long-lasting agriculture and animal well-being. They guarantee a traceability, a mode of production implemented for at least 2 years by the farmer.

In Picardy, an association, the ABP, was created in 1991 to federate the bio farmers and promote this mode of production.
